Feb 26, 2019  If you have virtual instruments (MIDI tracks) in your GarageBand iOS projects, it is very easy to transpose these to a different key signature or up and down by a number of semitones or octaves. Jul 14, 2013  I would like to transpose in live the music I play on my piano. My keyboard has a transpose feature but does the job only for the audio out, not for MIDI (Genio-NEO). I found a tool, Midi Patchbay: it creates a new virtual port with transposed notes (adjustable by clicking). However, GarageBand plays 2 sounds, the original and the transposed one. This week, Apple released two major improvements for musicians using iOS devices. First, the company launched its new app, Music Memos (free) which can analyze rhythm and chords of recorded piano or acoustic guitar and instantly add drums and a baseline. Apple also launched a major update for GarageBand; watch T-Pain mix a beat with the new GarageBand using iPad Pro.

GarageBand 2.1 adds Live Loops, which allows you to create music by tapping cells and columns in a grid that play different looped instruments and samples. The Live Loops update includes a large library of ready-made samples from a variety of genres including Rock, EDM, and Hip Hop. The iOS GarageBand also adds a feature previously exclusive to GarageBand and Logic Pro X for Mac: the Drummer feature which includes nine EDM and virtual acoustic drummers to pick from.

To test the new GarageBand 2.1, The Verge enlisted Grammy winner T-Pain. You won’t learn much about how to use the software from his demonstration, but it gives you an overall feel of the updates simplicity and look. Check out the video below.
